Dobrish Zeif Gross & Wrubel, LLP is a New York City firm that handles legal matters in the following practice areas: Matrimonial and Family Law, Civil Litigation, Trial and Appellate Practice. As the firm prepared to relocate its offices to 757 3rd Avenue, they needed a company that could design and install a structured network cabling system in their new office space. Their general contractor recommended BBH Solutions to partner Eric Wrubel as a capable provider of cabling solutions that would not only work efficiently now, but provide room for growth given the constantly changing landscape of voice and data technology.
During the planning phases of the relocation project, Dobrish Zeif Gross & Wrubel’s IT support company went out of business. The firm now also needed a support group that could help them to rebuild their network and phase in upgrades of their critical business applications – Worldox and Juris Server.
Mr. Wrubel met with BBH project staff to survey the new space and discuss which cabling and connectivity solutions would best suit the needs of his firm. Mr. Wrubel was presented several options that would provide a solid foundation for his firm’s voice and data systems. The final decision was made to run 30 triple Cat6 cables to each workstation location, along with a new data rack, patch panels and APC UPS system. The Cat6 cabling would provide them with an infrastructure that could handle a higher throughput, and the 3 runs to each location assured room for future growth. All cable runs were to be installed, terminated, and tested by BBH’s staff of professional union technicians.
Once the cabling plan was in place, BBH's Integration Engineers were brought on by Dobrish Zeif Gross & Wrubel to conduct an ITA (Information Technology Assessment). An ITA is a business IT discovery process that helps to evaluate the current status of a company’s network, identify future network needs, and create a forward-thinking budgetary plan designed to address business growth and technology upgrades. Upon presentation of a comprehensive report on Dobrish Zeif Gross & Wrubel’s network, BBH recommended immediate upgrades to Microsoft Small Business Server, an Application Server, and a new Cisco switching and firewall solution. Spam, anti-virus and business continuity issues were addressed with a proposed Microsoft Exchange Hosted Services solution.
After a successful construction and installation period, Dobrish Zeif Gross & Wrubel now has their critical applications running productively on their new server system. MS Office applications and WordPerfect are up to date, and an email business continuity plan is in place with Exchange Hosted Services. BBH Solutions has been retained as the firm’s IT service provider to proactively handle upgrades, moves/adds/changes, and to continually evaluate the firms IT strategy as business, regulatory, and technology requirements change.
