The Housing Authority of the City of Newark (NHA) operates approximately 8,000 units of public housing scattered over 40 project-sites, and administers more than 4,500 Section 8 Rental Vouchers. It is also the contract administration for nine project-based Section 8 properties and performs various redevelopment activities in the City of Newark. Currently, the Authority has a staff of over 900 and the annual expenditure of Federal awards for fiscal year ended March 31, 2005 was approximately $155 million.

The planning model will allow NHA to monitor progress on the plan and support future planning initiatives.
