Industrial Color, with locations in New York City, Los Angeles and Miami is the largest digital capture and post-production firm in the world. Their GlobalEdit system provides a central image archiving location that allows for simultaneous functionality, including image capture, editing, raw file processing, color management, proofing and file delivery. The system also allows project collaborators to connect to the system and work on files in real-time. The firm's scheduled relocation from 580 Broadway to 32 Avenue of the Americas in late 2006 gave them the opportunity to upgrade their business-critical network infrastructure. The storage systems and servers that give Industrial Color's clients the ability to access large image files from anywhere in the world at any time require a reliable power supply, emergency backup and temperature monitoring system. They also needed redundant fiber and Cat6 Copper interconnections between several network zones throughout their new space. As the planning phase of this project continued, Industrial Color called on BBH Solutions to provide expert data center implementation services and to design and install their inter-zonal structured fiber optic system. BBH engineers conducted a full site survey and consulted Industrial Color on several cabling options to find the solution that would best fit their requirements. This was followed with a professional installation that was terminated, tested and certified by BBH's union cabling technicians. BBH also helped Industrial Color confirm the design of a massive APC InfrastruXure power and backup system and coordinated with the electrical contractor to facilitate a successful installation. Thanks to the help of BBH Solutions' Project Staff, Industrial Color is now confident in the bandwidth of their infrastructure to accommodate the high transfer rate of large graphics files over their network. They are outfitted with a modular and scalable APC power solution that ensures a high level of protection for emergency shut down and enough backup power to get them through major outages.” For more information about Industrial Color, visit www.industrialcolor.com
